The Alliance Francaise de Newcastle is thrilled to present the first session of our French Fridays!
On Friday 30th March 2012, come to the Playhouse, 375 Hunter Street, Newcastle, to enjoy a french film and some delighful french treats. Doors open at 6.30pm and film starts at 7.30pm.
Ceux qui restent (Those who remain) is a 2007 film directed by Anne Le Ny. The film will be screenned with english subtitles.
The story : Bertrand and Lorraine are those who remain. Those who pace up and down the corridors, asking forbidden questions, who get noticed at the newspaper stand, who talk too loudly in the cafeteria and who smoke surreptitiously on the roof of the hospital where their spouses are being treated. To help each other bear the guilt they feel from being alive, Bertrand and Lorraine have decided to help each other live, laugh and keep on loving.

Bastille Day
Every year, around the 14th of July, come and celebrate Bastille Day with us! Last year, we had a French lunch at Tillermans restaurant in Tea Gardens. Bobby was playing some French songs in a friendly atmosphere. The menu was at $45 : Soupe, salade niçoise, main, dessert, wine included. Hum !
